Roadcraft offer driving lessons for all areas of Plymouth Our driving instructors, who are both male and female, provide comprehensive training packages for all levels of ability and ages and can get the most nervous driver through their Driving Test. Each experienced and highly trained instructor gives constructive feedback throughout your lesson and pointers for you to concentrate on for your next lesson.

Your driving lesson is conducted on a 1:1 basis and you can be collected from work, home or college, whatever suits you best. We understand that everyone leads busy lives and therefore are to offer lessons 6 days a week including early / late evenings.

Driving Instructor Training

Prior to deciding whether to embark on the training scheme you are strongly advised to take advantage of your assessment test. It last about 1 hour 30 minutes and will put you in the picture as to your suitability. Your own driving, your knowledge and suitability will be assessed and a fair decision will be made in order to decide whether or not to continue any further.

You will be taught how to teach all types, the correct terminology, dealing with emergencies and anticipation of the pupils actions. You will be taught how to conduct yourself professionally in order to teach your pupils in a way that they will be pleased to recommend you and you will be able to command a good fee.

Pass Plus Course

Newly Qualified drivers are high risk drivers and make up 10% of licence holders, but are involved in 29% of accidents. This means higher insurance premiums to new drivers. You can take the 'Pass Plus' after taking the practical driving test. there is no further test to take. You are required to have specially structured lessons including driving on dual carriageways and motorway, night driving, all weather driving and town and country driving.

A 'Pass Plus' certificate will be issued by the DSA upon completion of your lessons. The discount on your insurance could more than pay for the lessons and savings on subsequent years no claim discount will be substantial. Please call for more information

A ture story

  Cecil lived on one side of Plymouth and his girlfriend lived on the other side of Plymouth in a retirement home so Cecil decided to learn to drive with Roadcraft so that he could drive over to see her more frequently.Cecil had his lessons and passed his test on his first attempt aged 82. So if you are younger don't shy away from learning to drive. Just go for it!!

Obvious choice

  Mike Evans at Roadcraft was the obvious choice for me for my driving lessons. He taught both my sisters and my mother who all have very strong personalities. He is extremely patient and very thorough in his teaching style. He is also a really lovely person. I always recommend Mike to anyone wanting to start driving as I believe he is the best. Nothing is too much. If you want to practice something over and over again this is not a problem. I always go back to Mike when I need a refresher. Booking is really easy and I never had a problem if I ever needed to change a lesson. I would recommend him every time.

Learning to be an ADI
